Right, it’s still their oil that their economy is dependent on (Russia), and they were willing to send submarine escorts, but because it’s a different hemisphere it’s not the same thing.
Keep moving those goal posts.
Why didn’t Trump nip this Russia/ukraine thing in the bud with his strength when he was president last time? Or did you forget he was one of those last 5-6 presidents?

This has been discussed ad nauseum, but I’ll reiterate that Trump’s first term was almost completely defensive as the deep state tried to take him down before he was even inaugurated with a myriad of tactics. Then Covid. Washington is for insiders, and even Trump wasn’t one at the time.
Also, Biden’s administration came after Trump 1 and made Ukraine infinitely worse. So even if he could have made positive progress, Biden would have reversed it all.
