Can someone explain to me why govt employees are so hard to fire??? Why can’t a dept secretary fire poor employees? Seems odd the leader of the free world doesn’t have the power to remove employees or entire departments if he thinks it is necessary. Unelected bureaucrats have proven to have too much power and no accountability, this has to change

What trump should do is turn 60% of govt positions into contract employees that function more like a regular business. The “unaccounted for” money that’s been lost/stolen/wasted in the DoD/state dept should have everyday Americans rioting. Amazing how the IRS can be so picky about your taxes, all so another fed dept can just lose track of billions annually. It’s beyond criminal

Race...gender...sexual orientation...you name it, someone will use it to sue the agency. You damn near can't write someone up in the government, much less fire them. They just move people around and make them someone else's headache and hope they will just quit.

There are no doubt a lot of lazy, good-for-nothing government employees. But there are those that work as hard in the government as they would in the private sector. Hell, I work with guys that work harder than some of the people I worked with in the private sector, and that I would have happily had on project teams then.

If they would start writing people up, putting them on opportunity for improvement plans, and firing people that don't improve, it would be a lot better. The problem is, no one has the balls to do it. Maybe Trump does
