The media is a war with Trump and vice versa. Everybody recognizes it. That's not going to change just because Acosta's credentials are pulled. Thus, you let him continue his ridiculousness and THEN for your supporters/potential supporters, make he and his ilk the glaring examples of the "crazy, biased, media".
It's easier to rally supporters against a tangible "villain" when you can show them example after example of his reprehensible behavior. Allow him the freedom to undermine his own cause. Don't silence him. Then that makes him a quasi-sympathetic figure in the battle of ideologies
