It has gotten to the point where nothing has any legitimacy unless it supports already established positions. Such is the state of partisanship. The whole attacking of the media and delegitimatizing it by the highest office really is terrifying, and it also really is the type of propaganda enforced by authoritarian regimes so that they can control the narrative. Things don't necessarily seem that dire yet, but it is an alarming trend for those in power and their supporters to have this kind of relationship with the media.
