This thread is a microcosm of the internet in general and TD specifically in 2025.

Attention whore starts thread with misleading editorialized headline, based on a fricking New York Times article by a “journalist” with terminal TDS.

The first 40 replies are a combination of people who wake up seething everyday because OMB and MAGA who are too fricking lazy to read the article and/or lack the reading comprehension skills to understand what they are reading.

There is no “Digital ID”.

There is no collecting of new information or data that the feds do not already have.

This is a program to help agencies coordinate and eliminate the waste fraud and abuse because the current system has no fricking clue if an illegal gets a dead persons SSN and then starts using it to collect benefits from X, Y, and Z agencies.

I would bet that 100% of the people melting like bitches in this thread use Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Verizon, AT&T, Samsung, LG, Ford, Chevy, GMC, etc everyday and have no clue that those companies all have already built a “Digital ID” on them that is bought and sold thousands of times by other companies and both foreign and domestic governments.

Then they scream about surveillance because of a NYT rage bait piece.
