the public wasn't overly concered with Darfur.
it was the "in" charity for at least a year and more like 2-2.5
in fact, Ben Affleck is a big Darfur guy, iirc

When white people are killed, that's important.
this current cr-ISIS has a lot more to do with all the brown-skinned people being killed than the couple of white beheadings

i would say that the killing of James Foley brought the ISIS scum to the attention of the American people like nothing else. Also contributing was the killing of Iraqi Christians, but then again, that's the religion of white people.
Since the brown people are bad people to begin with, why would anyone care otherwise?
i'd say breast cancer was a bigger charity, among many others.

There are black and brown Christians too. I would think Judaism is considerably more "white" than Christianity.

of course Christians are of all ethnicities in the world, but it's because Christianity is the religion of most whites globally that there's a kinship to oppressed Christians.

Real Time is the best political talk show on television. I don't agree with much of anything Maher believes, but the debate is almost always fantastic. Any conservative who doesn't watch it because of Maher's ideology is missing out. It's also hilarious.

Are we considering Asians white, because most of them are Atheists.

Maher point is not all religions are equal, all are bullshite to him but some are fundamentally peacefully when read fairly others are violent by nature. aka Muslims.

89% (!) condone stoning as punishment for adultery. Figured they may have cracked the 90% barrier.

Afleck is making some serious errors in judgement. His stance on radical Islam is basically that since there are Muslims that don't believe in jihad, then it's wrong to point it out as a criticism of Islam at all. He likens it to racial stereotyping against blacks.
The errors in this philosophy is:
1. Religion is a choice, race isn't.
2. Using the "but some of them don't do that" argument basically neuters any sort of way to resolve it.
What I mean by the 2nd point is that if we excuse a group's behavior because some members aren't behaving that way then we are left to confronting these groups (and for a "group" that has over 1.6 billion members, even a small percentage can be a large number) as individuals. Lots and lots of individuals. Such a path of action is highly inefficient due to the large number of individuals. It's like looking for a couple of needles in a hay barn, except that the needles will jump out and stab you when your back is turned. It's death by a thousand cuts.
The other error Afleck makes is his dismissal of ISIS/ISIL as being so few in number that they couldn't field a minor league baseball park. While this may be true for now, they are growing and in the areas they control, they control them brutally and absolutely. The saying "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king" applies as they control the money, food, water, medical supplies and weapons.
His view is well-meaning but dangerously myopic.

you give the guy too much credit, all he's doing is slinging the "racism" meme ala the Dem talking points, that's all, he's not capable of any real intelligent discourse. Just doing what the other liberals like himself have been taught to do, monkey see, monkey do, it's just that simple.
Affleck had no clue how badly he was owned by Harris and even Maher.

I agree, and the video proves that. No matter what facts were brought to the table, he just scowled and summarily refused to even entertain them. Taking a step beyond "it's just wrong" would challenge his philosophy. People like that just want to believe what they believe and cannot stand for it to be questioned because they don't want to have to take the time to study and changing their view on this may mean they might have to change their views on other things. They are philosophically lazy.
