I thought this article was interesting. I thought several had merit. Capture our "essence" on a computer and we achieve immortality. The space elevator has been mentioned here as well.

Good read.

They’re already building algae farms in Georgia for renewable energy.

I don’t buy a lot of that (one currency, three languages etc)

A lot of that sounds cool, but I’m not a great fan of the genetic and technological modifications to humanity and the human consciousness.

Glad I’ll be dead.

I agree that the breakup of large states will be a trend.

The haves are getting tired of funding the have-nots.

100% agree with that. That shite creeps me out. I don't imagine much of this stuff will happen before 2100 anyways so won't matter to me.

I bet this somewhat. I really think English will engulf Europe. South America will Keep Spanish alive. Africa will be greatly simplified entirely to English. Indian in India has been dying for nearly a century, and I think it will mostly be dead by this point. Russian is a language that pisses the world off as a whole to where I think it also will go English.

I think Japanese and Arabic will still be around though. Arabic I can say with almost 100% certainty solely due to the Koran. The Japanese though are French on steroids. The Koreans will be speaking either Mandarin or English.

But here’s what y’all aren’t putting into the equation: almost everyone will be able to speak all languages. With nanoprocessors in our mind and body, we will be able to understand other languages. It has to be for a cultural reason for me to think that the language will still be around. Most Germans and French know English, so I think that is gone. The Japanese and Chinese are stubborn as frick about it, and the Arabs will keep their language around simply for religious reasons.
