Too bad politicians aren’t the people they portray themselves to be in commercials

When the political commercials play on tv, the politicians portray themselves as the most moral, upstanding, patriotic Christian family oriented people on the face of the earth.
But once elected, they quickly revert to their real selves.
I think this is part of the appeal of Trump. He pretty much lets you know who he is up front, take it or leave it.

Commercials always dipict them with family and as "a normal guy" usually with sleeves rolled up.

It’s funny how all the libs were lecturing on how he wasn’t moral enough to be a pastor. Maybe that shite works in Louisiana, but hopefully the evangelicals have woken up.

Mike Pence has a commercial where he’s pretending to pump gas into a truck, but you can hear the beep in the background because he never picked the gas grade and is only faking.

Every political commercial is the same BS: (insert dark and gloomy music) "Candidate X will eat your children, take your job, and put you on the streets". (Insert angelic music) "Candidate Y will cure cancer, make you a millionaire, and ensure our national well being for centuries to come!"

- Paid for by the Candidate Y Super PAC

And car salesmen.

Trump is the closest a politician has ever come to doing what he said he would do and acting the same way in office as he did on the campaign.

Given that they probably do a dozen takes while filming any given commercial, it would be a bit foolish to fill the vehicle on the first one.

Critics want him to be more careful about what he says. He's blunt. He speaks what's in his mind. That's all about who you really are. Politicians are not supposed to do that. They're supposed to say what advisors recommend.

There are a few, very few that are like they are in the commercials. They are usually not incumbents. That's why I like voting for new, fresh faces. They haven't been jaded or bought yet.

He didn’t have to fill it at all, but at least make sure the beeping is on.
