Scream more. It's a temporary extension on time for tic tok. Not permanent.

So why do it?

There’s plenty of laws that are on the books that aren’t enforced by administration’s department of justice.
Since the Department of Justice is still under Biden and not Trump, how is your statement applicable today?

It’s applicable as of tomorrow. Tiktok still has a period before they have to legally shut off. They turned it back on because of communication with Trump that this is how it will be.

I have no problem with Trump being a capitalist here. It's you dumbasses who think this Tik-Tok situation is a joke who's part of the problem.

Alt Right in 2008 - CHINA IS TAKING OVER - BOMB THEM

In 2024 - don't take my Chinese Tik-Tok - Trump, save us!

Never thought I'd support the TikTok ban, but watching everyone have complete meltdowns over losing an app has changed my mind. Sad what social media has done to so many people. People saying they feel lost without tiktok .

I’m indifferent to banning it or not… but again, would love to see where Trump has the authority to override a law, one that has been upheld by the USSC

MAGA tied with the Chinese Communist Party.

Commie propaganda is powerful. It’s no surprise with their decades of experience

It’s already been explained his justice department can create a policy memo that they won’t enforce that law.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t challenged in court further for a 1a violation, even with the supreme court decision.

but I get a little worried when any President can unilaterally ignore a congressional act and a Supreme Court decision.

The law allows for a 90 day extension under specific conditions. Trump is simply exercising the law as written. He is not ignoring Congress or the SC

A 90-day extension under specific conditions is explicitly allowed for in the bipartisan law passed last year. But an extension Monday may not be enough to avoid the app going dark for at least a day, because the current deadline for compliance is Sunday.

Maybe.

The SCOTUS decision upholding the law ordering the shut down or divestiture of TikTok set a deadline of yesterday.

Agreed. But my question stands: how is this legal for a President-elect (or President) to unilaterally overrule a congressional act and a Supreme Court decision? Just because Trump did it doesn't make it legal or constitutional.

If you can't provide accurate information, please just stop posting. Thanks.
