We are starting to see the hate hoaxes pop up again. I’m sure everyone remembers when this started popping off hard in 2016 as well.

What many may not know is that this has a very long history, going back to the 1960s.

There’s a gentleman who is now deceased named Laird Wilcox who was an underworld journalist that studied primarily right wing extremist groups. He was a left wing person at heart, but in his studies uncovered that a massive proportion of hate crimes are hoaxes.

He wrote a book documenting all of these he could find in 1994 called Crying Wolf: Hate Crime Hoaxes in America, which documents all the cases he could find in detail, and lists all the organizations (such as the ADL and the Southern Poverty Law Center) who are often behind coordinating them, or covering them up, and how the financial and publicity incentives make these so lucrative.

The book is extremely difficult to find these days for obvious reasons, but you can read a transcript of it online Here. I may bump this thread from time to time later and quote excerpts from it.

There’s a dude who did a podcast reading of the book too if anyone would be interested. Spotify

I guess the point of the thread is most here instinctively know most of these things are hoaxes, but I think few understand how deep it goes, and how long it’s been going on. Also this text provides many valuable tools if you happen to be arguing with leftists.

The problem is they are just so bad at it the hoaxes become obvious. They don't actually know any hardcore racist, so they just do things they a racist character from a movie would do. Even black people didn't believe Jussie Smolett. Yet, that didn't stop the media and Dem politicians from buying into the hoax full boar.

That reminds me. Where are we on finding the person who spray painted Lebron's gate in Brentwood, CA? A guy has his trailer stolen from a tailgate party and posts about it on the OT. The crime is solved with an hour. Someone paints racist graffiti on the property of the most famous active basketball player in the world...the search still continues.

It was obviously the same kind of hoax. Maybe one day someone will come forward and admit to it.

A particular difficulty these days is law enforcement has strong incentive to not look into it at all, when in the past they often would uncover hoaxes because they were trying to do their job.

Every American should read up on Yuri Bezmenov and Oleg Kalugin.

This thread makes me think about random fake hate crimes, wondering if they were ever solved.

Remember the Alabama nurse woman last year who went missing? She basically faked a hate crime to try to get out of her crimes. Seems like that story disappeared

I remember she saw the Mobile Leprechaun, of all things.
