UPDATE…situation resolved after an early morning phone call from the restaurant owner.

Any chance you could repost the original story?

Anything other than termination and a public apology is unacceptable.

The chef seems like the unhinged type that would do something to your food if they sensed you weren’t a liberal nut like themselves

Holy shite. We ate there last night as we do often. Can you expound on what Corey said, and the sincerity of it? It's one of the best restaurants in the state and we are lucky to have it in Monroe, but I will never grace the door again if need be...

Isn’t that illegal?

Absolutely.

But you know what's 100% legal and even admissable in court? Recording your phone calls anytime you're expecting friction. Louisiana is one party consent. You don't even have to tell them as long you're a party to the call

I believe Corey did his best here. We went back and forth on the phone several times this morning in an attempt to find some common ground.

There was a brief moment when I sent him my attorneys information and told him to speak directly to him if he was planning on suing me or pressing charges. The funniest part of the process was when he got that text and called me pretty upset. He informed me that he could outspend me 10 times with attorneys if he wanted. And, in the end he was right. I have no money. I’m old and semi retired.

However things changed significantly when the MPD detective called me back and I was assured that they had no intention of coming after me for threats.

Shortly after the phone call from the detective I received a very nice message from Corey saying that Parish was drawing up a statement to condem any type of political violence. I felt like I’d probably gone as far as I could without the chance of being hauled into court for something.

I did apologize for the initial phone conversation I had with his Manager. I wasn’t aware the girl was only 23 years old. Hell, my children are older than that.

Finally, I have no desire to hurt his business, I simply wanted them to be aware of the fact that they obviously had a mentally ill pastry chef working for them. All and all I’d say it was productive. Now we will wait and see the statement they produce.

I believe the owner is a straight up individual and got caught up in the outrage over an employee's post.

Thanks for the explanation GB. Cory has a rep of being an egotistical prick, but one who can cook his arse off. Him being an egotistical prick won't keep me out of his restaurant. Him condoning what his cake baker said will. I would love to read his statement if he put one out.
