I know that you are a welcomed court jester on the political-board and you poke fun, but you make salient points that are worth discussing too. This is one of them.

In 1983, the prospect of the Cold War going hot was the major geo-political concern. “Star Wars” technology was the hot topic. It actually is quite remarkable that western (supposed) capitalists were discussing a “new world order” based on a world-wide socialist system, prompted by covert and nefarious manipulation.

What’s remarkable to me is that very smart people who also are power-mongers, think they can make the world “better” by letting “elites” run the place on a socialist model. All this while the fundamental forces of free society and authoritarian society were in a death match like two snakes in a bottle.

They just can’t understand basic human nature.
