I will tell you the same thing that I told my fringe liberal brother when we saw some of our relatives who fought for the CSA in an old rural cemetery where many of my relatives are buried. He made a snarky remark about it...similar to your bullshite remark...

I said to my brother...you are trying to critique their actions in the prism of what we know to be right and wrong today. The people who went to war from this region kept no slaves. Most of them would be what snooty people call poor white trash today. These guys probably didn't know what a black person was much less a slave. All they knew was that they were under attack, their lives and livelihood were under assault, their families were in jeopardy...many were probably coerced by the powers that be locally or their peers or fully conscripted to serve. I am sure a vast majority of those soldiers fighting on the side of the CSA were in similar situations. They were good Christian people who were doing what they thought was the right thing to do likely based off the the circumstances I laid out to you, not the politics of the day so when you get on your high horse and besmirch these people YOU are the ignorant one. You are the one bouncing a "knowledge check".

You liberals/pr0gs are so duplicitous with your "don't judge" bs. When you utter that non-sense you leave off the other part of the equation which is "don't judge however we get to judge who we deem(judge) as judgmental and worthy of our scorn and judgment".
