An FBI employee purposely lied to superiors about the CIA's work with Carter Page, resulting in Page being investigated for possibly attempting to collude with a foreign power to sway the 2016 Presidential election. That employee received a slap on the wrist.

Suddenly, over a year and a half after he's been out of office and after he's established that he will willingly work with the National Archives, they've conducted a surprise raid on his house in the late evening hours (when they knew he wasn't there) in an unprecedented move against a former President.

This is hauntingly reminiscent of the unexplainably overwhelming forces they sent to raid the homes of Paul Manafort and Roger Stone as well as the attempt at trapping George Papadopoulos.

When looking at recent history and how the Democrats are willing to weaponize the DOJ (and the DOJ is sympathetic to their doing it), this is indeed "a big fricking deal".
