The TV coverage today has been nothing short of magnificent

I think more Americans than I might have thought have actually been starving and craving for a chance to celebrate our country again. There has been a buzz around these America 250 events that people have been looking forward to and excited about. It’s refreshing to see. We have been told for so long that America is this terrible place and we shouldn’t be proud of her. I really think more people than I would have thought is tired of hearing that and was just waiting to celebrate and be proud of our country again.

What makes this even cooler is with the World Cup taking place also I think a lot of the worlds visitors have got caught up in it too. The European visitors for sure have. I think a lot of them has been told by the media how bad the American people are but they have learned that Americans are nothing like what the media has portrayed us to be. I hope they take this back home with them and spread the word even more.

Europeans may have needed this as much as Americans did. Maybe they can take something from this and go home and demand a little more America in their own countries. Maybe this experience will lead them to put their own countries back on track. I doubt it. Hope springs eternal though.

I was gone for much of the day and didn’t get to watch much of anything. I’m just glad to hear that the media largely has behaved to though. A moment like this only comes every so often and it would be nice if these morons just decided to cease fire today and let’s all take in the moment. Sounds like they did for the most part. I just wished the weather would cooperate so we could get the full celebration.
