Bringing the Green New Deal to the floor for a vote.

quote:

“I’ve noted with great interest the Green New Deal. And we’re going to be voting on that in the Senate. Give everybody an opportunity to go on record and see how they feel about the Green New Deal,” McConnell said with a sly smile during a Tuesday press conference.

The video is worth watching. McConnell can barely hold back the laughter.

It's about campaign contributions. If it comes to a vote GOP can then go after campaign contributions. Any dem that votes yes can kiss campaign contributions from many big industries bye bye. Agricultural companies (and their farting cows), airlines, oil and gas....and on down the line. Pretty smart move by turtle, actually.

A Senate vote on this means shite. Any bill that involves spending MUST originate in the House.

The House introduces spending(budget) bills and the Senate either approves or changes and sends it back. Any vote on this is strictly show.

I wish I had photoshop skills. I have this concept of AOC putting a cork up an alarmed cow's butt.

Yes, exactly. That’s what makes it such an unforced error by AOC and Nancy for not nipping it in the bud.

I speculated she gave AOC prime committee slots to give her enough rope to hang herself but I don’t think that’s working out so far

No, it's so Mitch can grab a headline to feed to people that he's in control of the Senate. The vote itself means nothing.

So if you’re a Democrat in the Senate do you vote for it and alienate yourself from moderates and big business to fund your next campaign or do you vote against it and alienate the new, vocal progressive wing of your party?

And all for nothing.
