It’s funny how many people say “Weed is bad and shouldn’t be legalized” then in the same sentence talk about how they drink a case of beer every night and are hungover af while working at the refinery.

My building is nothing but lawyers and lobbyists, they smoke the frick out of that stuff.

I know right? Talking about how bad it is but now "but but that's not what we're really saying".

No, they just want big government to give them the warm and fuzzies. Just like the libs.

Social conservatives and progressives are the exact same person, just different issues.

They require government to protect their delicate feelings.

Much bigger and when it comes down to it being dangerous or not, alcohol is far more detrimental to your body and health than weed is. I can kill myself with alcohol. I can’t do the same with weed. I could kill my pantry and fridge though. And once it becomes federally legal, I won’t even have to smoke it anymore. I can just eat edibles or use some THC drops or something. The only “bad” thing about smoking weed is that you’re smoking it. Even more of a reason to get this shite rolling at the federal level, is so we can make it even safer to consume. It’s gotta be one of the least harmful substances out there. Even less harmful than food and caffeine.

You're the one raging calling everyone a cuck due to your stunted vocabulary over a plant that unless you consume it, has no bearing on you.

Maybe you need to take a toke, dude.

I mean, I know people who can’t do a damn thing until they drink coffee, and you think weed is more harmful for your body than fried chicken and boudin balls are?

Yes, I'm raging so much says the peanut gallery mischaracterizing others' beliefs and reacting angrily because others don't think their pot habit is the epitome of personal liberty.

Here’s what we need to start asking ourselves though. Why should we make something illegal? What are the reasons for something being illegal.

The folks in here whining about weed definitely drink a pot of coffee for breakfast, another at lunch to wash down their 3k calorie value meal, and drink a case of Natural Light for dinner.

But "Marihuana is harmful to your health and deforms your children!"

No, no I don't.

Who do you think is likely a more productive person? The guy who has a few cups of coffee a day, or the chronic weed smoker?

Whether they smoke weed or drink coffee has nothing to do with their production

The question is absurdly stupid and doesn't say much about your intelligence

Why are you asking this in the context of weed, particularly considering the current state of its legality? Personally, I'm a proponent of making it legal (it is where I live, at least on the state level, obviously).

Sure.

Oh Jesus Christ. Ok, I'll stipulate that you are a much, much more intelligent person than I am. Are you happy with the attention now?

The question was not at all absurdly stupid, since it was raised in the context of a stupid analogy.
