That's a hell of a sample size right there.

And you want me to accept your nonsense on why the study i linked is "flawed"

And you wonder why some people label the right as anti-woman?

Nah, no reason to wonder. Most women are more likely to grasp an emotional argument.

For example,I am a woman who relies less on emotion and more on logic to make decisions. I am not one bit offended by the arguments made by SFP or other conservative leaning males.
I do not buy into the "war on women" b.s. because I realize I am not prevented from purchasing any type of b.c. I want. I also realize that there are many reasons why women make less than men.
When I hear emotional arguments I do not immediately hop on the bandwagon. Instead I ask why and how before making up my mind.

and in the process allowed me to give you a perfect example why women feel the right is out to get them. Thanks

This war on women shite is driving me farther right than I have ever been.

Anyone who believes that dumbass when he stands up and cries about "war on women wahhhh" while women working in the White House make an average of $12,000 a year less than the men, is just ignorant.

If his arrogant arse would get on TV and say "today, I personally took a step to end my faux war on women by creating equal pay in my staff". But he won't. He is too busy saying "sue me" and "not a smidgeon", instead of answering real questions.

But then again, the left plays to the ignorant, poor, and uneducated. That's where their votes come from.

If y'all want to side with the posters who want to take away your right to vote, be my guest.

Iv'e learned to do that a lot lately by reading this board.

Look at the thread title. If one side can generalize, it's only fair that the other can too.

Eta: And way to totally disregard the rest of my post.

and there it is

so you accept studies funded by oil companies that disprove global warming?

or what about the corn lobby and their studies about how HFCS aren't bad for us?

quote:

So now the CDC is a women's rights group?

wut?

the study was performed by the following authors:

Candace Kruttschnitt, LINK

quote:

She is the author of Marking Time in the Golden State: Women’s Imprisonment in California (with Rosemary Gartner, Cambridge University Press, 2005) and Gender and Crime: Patterns in Victimization and Offending (with Karen Heimer, New York University Press, 2006).

William D. Kalsbeek, who was the statistician

and Carol C. House, i couldn't find her bio

i was slightly incorrect in that this wasn't from a women's rights group, but the lead author of the study is a liberal feminist

oh, and the CDC? they just had a study that was a data source for the larger study that you linked a report of, or as the article states, "Another data source, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey." the CDC survey was just used as a data point for # of incidents to compare. it was not the author of the study being discussed.

quote:

Even if I were to accept that you know more about these studies than the people who conducted them

i didn't say that. i said i know more about them than you

quote:

it's still clear that underreported rape is a problem is this country.

who has claimed otherwise? the issue is how many cases of RAPE go unreported. there is not clear data on that issue, and we have no idea how prevalent the problem is.

quote:

Again, is it really any wonder that women feel they are under attack by the right wing

how is debating the validity of a reported quantity of an immeasurable problem somehow denying the problem exists?

One poster = the rest of you.

But it's only ok when lefties throw stones. This shite is ridiculous.

There is no war on women. It's just a catchy phrase.

This isn't about one single study, it's about a wide ranging and accepted statistical phenomenon.

quote:

oh, and the CDC? they just had a study that was a data source for the larger study that you linked a report of, or as the article states, "Another data source, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey." the CDC survey was just used as a data point for # of incidents to compare. it was not the author of the study being discussed.

but it is another data point and would have to be part of this "women's group" conspiracy, wouldn't it?

quote:

i was slightly incorrect in that this wasn't from a women's rights group, but the lead author of the study is a liberal feminist

So you're essentially saying that because she's a liberal, she must have falsified the data?

quote:

who has claimed otherwise? the issue is how many cases of RAPE go unreported. there is not clear data on that issue, and we have no idea how prevalent the problem is.

While it's impossible to get completely exact numbers on it, it shouldn't be debated that it is a prevalent problem. You're the one that seems to be in denial about that, otherwise you wouldn't have spent 2 pages of this thread arguing with me about it.

Just in the one thread the other day there were tons of posters who said as much, then backtracked claiming they were "joking"
