Developed to relieve pressure on the aging VC-25A fleet, the modified Boeing 747-8 features secure communications, advanced mission systems, and continuity-of-government capabilities designed to keep the President connected and protected at all times.
The accelerated program included pilot and maintainer training using an Atlas Air 747-8F and a Lufthansa 747-8i, along with extensive security, logistics, and mission-readiness preparations.
Once commissioning flights are complete, the VC-25B Bridge will join the VC-25A and C-32 fleets in supporting presidential missions until the next-generation VC-25B fleet enters service.
