you think TANF is worse than slavery?

Slavery was and still is horrible, ie see African Slavery today. Although, nearly ALL ethnicities on this planet have been slaves at one time or another.
Slave, root word "Slavic" peoples of Europe.
Either way, what has happened since the Great Society has been a travesty NEARLY to the level of American slavery.

no. voluntary impoverishment is worse than forced, surrendering your own dignity is worse

Rethink what?
Support your argument. I gave examples. All you have done is say No.
Slavery answered to the "man" (Slave Owners). The dependency created by the Great Society answers to the "man" (Government and the Democratic Party).
Don't get off the plantation or you are an Uncle Tom or a "Cornball Brother"! Don't think for yourself, be a sheep and vote with your "people". That is the message from Sharpton to Jackson to Maxine Waters, who made millions off of Fannie and Freddie. What do they care about the struggle of inner city or rural minorities?
Here is something for you:

Planned Parenthood genocide of black babies.
:Edited for the Coup de Gras...Planned Parenthood is a product of Progressives and the modern Democratic Party who will not allow funding to be cut.:

say no to what?
to slavery?
you realize under slavery people were systematically abused, deprived of freedom, and treated like property, and you are saying that's a better option than receiving government assistance if you don't earn much
it is insane. seriously, do not tell people in real life about this theory of yours.

hmm
either get worked to the bones, get the bare minimum in subsistence, get abused if i don't meet certain standards, and never have any sort of freedom for myself
or
get public assistance after jumping through a lot of hoops to prove i need the assistance
i wonder which is worse??? it's pretty close!

Democrats = Soft bigotry of low expectations
Posted on 5/24/17 at 9:30 pm to Speckhunter2012
honestly your argument seems like it supports raising the minimum wage.
a quarter of TANF recipients have jobs. an additional percentage are in job training.
maybe they should be slaves instead, though, right?? for the benefit of their personal dignity!

what i'm learning form this thread is:
Republicans = we think you should be in chains rather than get a benefit

Why reply to my post with this horseshite? Did I say any of what you said?

Think about what you said, look at today's government dependent class and get back to me.
While whipping and lynching have rightly passed into history, what about BLM? Sound like people being systematically abused by the authorities, the "man" if you listen to them. I don't believe this but that is what they claim to keep power.
Look at government housing vs housing in the 1800's.
Caeteris Paribus, a roof over your head and the basic necessities for life sans modern conveniences for the 1800's.
Again, I know what you are trying to say about the nuances of the differences. However, the big picture is not much different. A class of people who are dependent upon others for their food and shelter.
Get out of the cycle. It has been done. It can be done. Escape the plantation is all I am saying!

i think you, and the dude i was posting at before, need to acknowledge that minorities are thriving better today than they did under slavery and saying otherwise is fricking insane.

This is obviously the truth. Now a real question might be are minorities thriving more today than they were prior to LBJs "great society" or even more pertinent, more today than before obamas policies?

I wholeheartedly agree with you on this.
And it is absolutely awesome and what America should be for all races and religions!
However, until something is done to break the cycle of poverty and dependency on government and the breakdown of the black families due to the Great Society and Planned Parenthood, we have generations of people who know nothing but being dependent on Government.
I agree with you that it is not like slavery in the old days per se. But if you are dependent on anything or anyone besides what you can do for yourself, you are in essence a modern day slave to the system.

I think they have not advanced one bit. They have been used and abused throughout their time on this continent. Keep believing they are better off. I know it makes you think you are superior.

I agree somewhat with what you are saying due to the lack of expectations placed on the dependent class. However, they are better off in the opportunities they have to succeed. Unfortunately they have been brainwashed to think otherwise to stay on the plantation, ergo your statement is mostly correct, in my humble opinion.
With people like Ben Carson, Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell and MANY others, it has been proven that you can escape the shackles of government facilitated dependency.
