I understand that Russia has a different worldview and that the average Russian recoils from much of the present liberalistic trends of the Western European nations and America, but this premise is really beyond the limits of plausible reality, and it is no possible justification for what is going on.

Its certainly a contributing factor. The Biden Administration has put forth Green Agenda that is purely ideological and has little basis in practical realties. They are determined to flip the US economy to a different energy model and the consequences of that be damned. The point is that Biden's hostility towards the U.S. domestic energy industry and the impact on global prices and has enriched the regime in Russia, increased NATO allied country's dependence on cheap Russian sources, weakened our on national security interests, and emboldened Putin to do something he otherwise might not. Russia has the same GDP as Italy and without this energy dynamic going on, taking over Ukraine would be impossible for them to attempt and sustain. In fact, I still think this is going to turn out badly for them irrespective of energy prices.

The irony of the world ending over a nuclear war based off the climate change clowns is just amazing enough that I might want it to happen.

They are punishing people for having the basic human need of an energy supply. We’ve needed it since fire was discovered. And who knows when that was.

So domestic hostility toward the US energy production sector, which actually increases the international market value of other production outside of the US, including Russia, "emboldened Putin to" invade Ukraine?

Sorry--that's completely illogical and has no foundation in reality.

I am saying that the Russian economy has achieved huge windfalls of revenues from NATO member country's who are tethered to Russian energy sources and was a contributing factor when Putin, in his own calculus, undertook this decision.

i didn't say it was the only factor or even the main factor but yes a contributing factor when he knows perfectly well the NATO members options to respond to this are severely limited due to the sources available to them and the current prices. So yes - a contributing factor

It’s all about control of the energy supply. It’s Putin’s only source of power. It’s not that he has nukes. It’s that Europeans can’t [heat] their homes without him.
