Actually, the Bible is replete with stories of God not choosing the best, but the lowest and the off cast of society. God’s greatness is best revealed in his work through the weak and rejected.

Not chosing the best by this world's standards. Jesus/God chooses the best as determined through their spiritual standards... which in the new Testament is righteous life, repentance and faith. And certainly, the lowest and the cast off of the physical world can be the best by God's spiritual standards.

I can't imagine any Christian feeling they aren't inherently inconsistent. Every Christian I know acknowledges they're flawed in a lot of areas

Here is a stunningly prophetic letter written by Joseph Ratzinger (aka Pope Benedict XVI) in 1969.

The words are still true today, but will also still know who prevails in the end.

LINK

“And so it seems certain to me that the Church is facing very hard times. The real crisis has scarcely begun. We will have to count on terrific upheavals. But I am equally certain about what will remain at the end: not the Church of the political cult, which is dead already, but the Church of faith. It may well no longer be the dominant social power to the extent that she was until recently; but it will enjoy a fresh blossoming and be seen as man’s home, where he will find life and hope beyond death.”

There's a difference between recognizing that you're flawed and not realizing that you hold hypocritical views.

Hypocrisy is part of human nature, dude. We ALL are including every Christian and yourself. They're in WalMart. They're in churches. They're at LSU games. They're in Mickey D's...they're everywhere

Prove creation. Or maybe a little simpler, prove consciousness.

I can’t, and you can’t either with Christianity.

You were the one saying science can prove so much. It can't prove creation or even something as basic as consciousness and the universal subjective experience which is the reality of existence within this universe!!! Unfortunately the scientific method is severely limited by the scientific method. Science is useful but can never replace religion.

That's fine. Until you deny it, or try to assert some moral authority from it.

A lot of them make everyone believe in only one religion as well.

Just because something can't be proven doesn't mean we need to inject whatever we want in those gaps.

Perpetually butthurt atheist mid-wit feels emboldened by criticizing God. Full story at 10:00.

Can't you even come up with anything remotely original? I'm surprised you haven't pulled the "That's awfully 'Christian' of you" card yet when cornered.

Yet the Science community does just that and gets away with it as if it's fact.

As far as I am concerned, the Near Death Experience provides acceptable evidence of a GOD, an afterlife, a meaning and purpose to existence. The Bible provides a coherent, logical, historical framework for a God, an afterlife, meaning and purpose to existence. Your mileage and faith may vary.

Well, that didn't happen.

I've clearly been critical of religion and the human understanding of "God."

You'd know that if you bothered to pay attention or were capable of anything beyond a toddler's ability to follow a discussion.

Yes. State sponsored churches used to promote state propaganda and control the populace
