Either that or you're just really, really ignorant.
Ironic.
The conservatives of the time hated Andrew Jackson with a passion, and expected he would be the downfall of the republic.
But you mention sovereign nations, yet ignore the sovereign nations the US overran to gain territory. Do you even know what the decision was that prompted Jackson to make his famous "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!" (Or, more accurately, "...the decision of the Supreme Court has fell still born, and they find that they cannot coerce Georgia to yield to its mandate")?
Yes, the USSC decision that laid the foundation for recognizing tribal sovereignty.

This is a really fancy way of saying you don't believe in borders or sovereignty over who comes into our country.
I'm not endorsing imperial American practices, I'm simply drawing a parallel between then and now as it relates to the medias apathy towards American borders and the crime among them.

That's not what I'm saying at all. It is interesting the contortions you must have gone through in your mind to come to that conclusion, however.

That's a bit misleading. In the 19th century, the media were not apathetic towards America's borders as such, due to the changing nature of the borders, but were more interested in pushing for expansion of our borders - to include ignoring sovereignty of neighboring nations. The 19th century media were not promoting native Americans crossing over our borders, but rather settlers crossing over theirs.
The sentiment can be summed up with the famous quote, "Go West, young man." attributed to Horace Greely, editor and founder of The Tribune.
So I disagree vehemently with the OP, the media has changed its views on our borders since the 19th century. After all, Greeley didn't say, "Come East, young Indian."

Andrew Jackson talks about when he was in the Tennessee legislature, that they experienced increasing amounts of violence from the Indians to the west of them. Constantly encroaching on their villages, raping and killing citizens indiscriminately.
Ummm proof??

That has nothing to do with encroachment and violence done to American citizens on American soil by the Indians.

Andrew Jackson did the Trail of Tears despite the Supreme Court ruling it unconstitutional so I think you should take what he says with a grain of salt.
