I just finished this book last night; phenomenal book by Brian Kilmeade.

In it, Andrew Jackson talks about when he was in the Tennessee legislature, that they experienced increasing amounts of violence from the Indians to the west of them.
Constantly encroaching on their villages, raping and killing citizens indiscriminately.

As the Tennessee Govt and citizens plead with Washington DC to send aid and help their crisis, they were met with nothing but ridicule and scoff. "We dont see any indians up here"...

The Boston and New York papers at the time downplayed the trouble from Indians to the West and said that there is no real problems, it is simple disgruntled Tennesseans embellishing the issue.

Fast forward to 2019...
What do we have at our Southern Border? A crisis of security that has cost the lives of Americans. Preventable deaths and crimes.
We ask our Govt for help, and it is held hostage by the Left.
Our Coastal Elite Media simply scoffs at the Border issue and insists it's a "manufactured crisis". They don't care about average Americans being affected by what's going on South of the border and those troubles coming here unimpeded.

The more things change.. the more they stay the same.

Shameless bump for more to see.

This isn't anything new we are fighting. A corrupt, complicit media has hampered Patriots in this country for centuries.

Jackson, once President, also told SCOTUS “You’ve made your decision. Let’s see you enforce it.”

Maybe Trump should be looking into history at the Tennessee Democrat.

He elected to keep the portrait of old hickory in the Oval Office, after Hussein O. had it removed.

I think he feels a kindred connection to General Jackson.

How is a battle fought after the war was over the one that shaped America's destiny?

Also, how is your comparison remotely similar? One is about a Native people resorting to guerilla tactics against colonizers, the other of immigrants illegally moving for economic opportunity. If you think colonizers are the good guys in the first, then why are present day undocumented immigrants bad?

Well if you had any knowledge of the War of 1812 and the battle of New Orleans, and what was at stake, you wouldn't ask this; and frankly, I'm not going to condense a 350 page book for you.

No, they are both examples of unlawful violence against a sovereign nation. Not a hard concept to grasp.

Go troll elsewhere.

No, but your obvious conflations lead me to that thought.

Either that or you're just really, really ignorant.

So anyone disagreeing with your post is a troll or ignorant? The tolerant, elitist, smug left is satirized a lot on this board, but perhaps condescension has found a new partisan home?

Oh, so you're stereotyping and assuming rather than misquoting, good to know.

It cemented enforcement of the Treaty.

Jackson won a battle where everything went wrong. Mobile was still in the balance. When the gulf coast forces finally received news, they had no reason to keep the war continuing with "But, your Majesty, we have New Orleans."

"How is a battle fought after the war was over the one that shaped America's destiny?"

If you're actually interested, you should read the book. It's excellent and makes a strong case for the Battle of New Orleans being more significant than what I had believed because of its timing.

Thanks for the brief explainer. Glad to see some folks are still willing to write a couple sentences to explain rather than a couple sentences to patronize

Not sure what that means, but I'm heading out so you may want to start bumping your own thread again for attention now that the antagonist is leaving
