While true, I can’t help but imagine the amount of crazy new laws that would strangle their economy. Laws like “no trade with red states” or “50% corporate taxes and 75% taxes on the top 5%.” Pretty soon, they’d cripple themselves. Venezuela part deux.

There’s a fine line between secession and Balkanization.

I feel like we are seeing the large cities Balkanize and the rest of the nation hold out.

If a state has the ability to do it and wants to constitutionality doesn't matter.

Gee, could have avoided WWII if we had just made bombing Pearl Harbor unconstitutional.

I was going to say that they are well on their way to destroying their economy.

It's not an easy topic. If secession was deemed allowed, after the Democrats seceded.... then slavery would probably still be alive and active, in their states.

Even though slavery itself wasn't the main trigger that set off the civil war, it can't be ignored.

Personally, I believe every state should get a vote. For example.. if the USA wants to get rid of California and kick it out .. all 50 states can cast their votes, that's 50 votes, if 26 states vote to get rid of California...then California will no longer be part of the USA. California will become its own third world country.
