Based on the known facts so far, this should be an open an shut case.
Anthony's actions disqualify him from a legal defense of self defense:
- Provocation with intent. The Texas self defense statue specifically calls this out as a disqualifier. "Punch me and see what happens" while brandishing a weapon. Classic provocation.
- Proportionality: Self defense using lethal force is only allowed when defending yourself from lethal force. Austin at no time threatened lethal force on Anthony. Stabbing someone with a knife (lethal) is not allowed in a fistfight (non-lethal).
- While Breaking the law: You are not allowed to claim self defense while lawbreaking. Carrying a knife on school grounds was illegal. This precludes using it as a means of self defense.

Because they were brought up by parents scarred from the Depression who wanted them to have the abundance they didn’t get. They didn’t realize that adversity is what made them the greatest generation, and that the over abundance led to a bunch of spoiled brats who wanted to destroy the very nation and lifestyle their parents worked so hard to upkeep. Add in malicious outside forces using our institutions and gullibility around their infallibility, and you have one of the worst decades in American history that we still somehow idolize.
