But in some parts (specifically NYC and its Metro Area) people are more obsessed with it than Aggies are with LSU. It's all people talk about nearly 24/7. Not to mention the other places you spoke on with their policies for restaurants. But the place that is really the strictest is NYC. Even SF was surprisingly pretty lax about showing vaccination cards in comparison.
I’ve had to write letters in podunk Hammond, LA and Baton Rouge, LA justifying the choice to not get the jab and had to wait to see my choice was justified.

One for my daughter in college and one for my sister’s job (she’s in the medical friend but I’m the better writer).
