Don't forget taxing unrealized gains, exit taxes, retroactive taxation, jock taxes, taxing small private cash transactions - ie the FB Marketplace tax.
They should just come out and say what they truly support... complete confiscation of all wealth and income, with government regulated redistribution.

Cars are not the problem, but a lot of zoning with cars in mind (but not pedestrians) IS a problem, especially when it comes to mandatory minimums for parking spaces for commercial real-estate. Think back to the mid 20th century when massive amounts of urban city blocks were bulldozed just to provide parking. The pendulum of urban planning swung way too far towards planning for cars in the 50’s-80’s. The left wants to overcorrect, but they’re not completely wrong on the issue of unintended negative consequences of car-centric planning. There’s some balances which could be struck.

I was saying what democrats should support if they want to have a remote chance of being an intellectually honest but politically viable party. If they want to win, they should follow my advice.
I am a Republican. I don’t think that the policy aims I laid out are all (or even mostly) good ideas. I wanted to show that there exists a non-cynical, politically pragmatic agenda which democrats could advocate for that would please their voters, contrast with republican initiatives, and have a consistent ideological underpinning.
Hurr dur, democrats should just be republicans, durr. We already have a Republican Party. If democrats want to survive, they need an identity, they need to stop choosing to die on the hill for issues unpopular with 80% of the population, and they need to differentiate themselves from republicans. The democrats are simply too corrupt, too incompetent, and too high on their own propaganda to do anything but what they’ve been doing.
The republicans, meanwhile, are in the midst of an ideological civil war between the traditional Rockefeller NEOCON republicans of globalism, the libertarians challenging government action at every turn, the evangelicals of regressive social policy and Wilsonian interventionism abroad, and the MAGA coalition of folks advocating for America-centric foreign policy, nativist immigration policy, and protections for workers. The republicans will continue to fight amongst themselves as these differing branches within the coalition want some mutually exclusive things in different contexts, but whom are banded together under Trump merely to combat the left’s batshit insanity. If the democrats are smart, they can exploit the fault lines within the current GOP to propose a concise vision and through unity, stay viable going forward.
