i'd expect some combination of both, with some firms in protected industries positioned for teh windfall. some evidence with that from the washing machine tariffs also resulting in a price jump for dryers, even though the tariff applied only to the washers

since we avoided consumer goods to a large extent in the 301 tariff lists at first, i was more surprised by the magnitude of that split on the consumer side. the magnitude for PPI surprised me as well, but not quite as much
