If Trump said he saved 7 people from drowning and it turned out to be just 5, the left would go crazy about that lying Trump.
Probably.
And to balance that, Hannity and FNC would claim Trump leaped out of a chopper into the foaming seas in his red tie and blue suit, tuck the seven libs on his back, then swam back to shore.

It's also funny that critics are arguing against things like pharma and tech.
Are you a lobbyist for Pfizer or Moderna? OR Larry Ellison?
By the way, "Critics" are arguing against Big Pharm poisons and AI Data Centers and Infringement on humanity.

We SUPER need at least some domestic presence in those sectors
Says who?

Have a client that produces a good, with international market, took a hard look at the effect of tariffs on their business. Had plans to move production to the US. Now, because of tariffs, They are *not* moving production to the US. Why?...Because of other country's recriprocal tariffs make exporting from the US almost impossible. US manufacturing costs + tariffs > Asian manufacturing costs + tariffs.
They were barely competitive with US COGS, but with tariffs on top, no one in the world can afford their product.
Nice anecdotal example and explanation.
Most people don't understand tariffs to begin with; and especially don't understand how jacked up tariffs on imports adversely affecting US small business importer profits margins. Product pricing must be adjusted now and passed along to the consumer OR ELSE go out of business (the real plan, because then ONLY Big Corporations can afford razor-thin profit margins.)

doomcaster says "Not really" working and then proceeds to give an anecdote as if that somehow wipes out all the success stories, including the lastest news that even China is starting to buckle and negotiate
You people can't grasp that notion, can you?

Because of other country's recriprocal tariffs
You people can't grasp that notion, can you?
quote:That's not the only problem
Our fiscal problem is our sovereign debt
quote:The trade deficit is a big, big problem and it's getting fixed with the el rapido
But that has nothing to do with trade deficit
quote:Neither of those things you just said are correct. We're not cutting demand for the dollar and so far, the tariffs are working pretty much exactly as Trump said they would
Cutting demand for US dollars will only make our debt situation worse, not better

I've done nothing of the sort

YOU are the one who assured ME new US FACTORIES are RE-TOOLING

So there's "chatting" and "deals" being clucked about. Big whoop
quote:It's interesting you mention them....
It's CHYNA who's by far our biggest supplier of manufactured goods
quote:And your point is?
By that time many of us will be 6' under or hopefully Raptured
quote:Meaning domestic as opposed to foreign. I'll take that. Much much better than our pharma and computer processors being made out of our control
And IF any of what Chyna manufactures in their seat-shops is brought back to the USA, the jobs will be low-paying, "supervised" or run by ROBOTS
