More like low-intensity confliction. Israel probably won’t invade but they’ll ramp up their air campaign and maybe move into some ISIS controlled areas around Golan and clear them out.

If there’s any ground operations it’ll be to create a “security zone” like with what the Turks are doing. They’ll be going up against the Syrians, Hezbollah, the Iranians, and probably Russians though. It would create a united Syria pretty quickly but the IDF would still steamroll them. The SAA needs to reach some type of agreement with the help of Russia to ease the tensions.

Even if used as a metaphor, no denying a story about drawing the ire of God on all those foolish to war near that specific place has to be unnerving.

Which is why I think people are intentionally following a script to create a biblical end times.

It sounds silly, but there would be no assembling all the armies of the world in the ME if we didn't create the Syrian civil war.

Current players:
NATO (all from Turkey to US)
All ME countries
5 non-state militaries
Russia
China

FIFY

Also, Assad knows that Syrian/Russian tanks in Damascus are getting old and he wants some new ones. What better way to get some than to pick another fight with Israel near the Golan Heights and have Israel wipe em out (again)....that way the Russians can give Assad some shinier newer used second rate models.

yeah, it wasn't very neighborly of them to not let themselves be destroyed any of the numerous times ever neighboring country ganged up together to attack them, including 2 seconds after they declared the state out of a stateless territory
