I don't think we should underestimate the possibility that Biden would drag us into full scale open war if he thought he was losing the election as an excuse to suspend voting

I hope someone, somewhere in power is planning to counter that ploy.

I have tremendous respect for Hersh. It's hard to not have respect for him.

However, during this war he's had some...questionable reporting. His story on the US being behind the pipeline attack had a single unnamed source.

Does he actually give a name for any of the individuals he talks with?

At what point does anyone ask the Biden Administration why it is willing to trade the lives of Ukrainian soldiers for poll numbers?

I wouldn’t Russia “won” the war. They were repelled from taking Kiev and the western part and the replacing the government. They have simply consolidate their gains in the East and now it’s a stalemate. The Ukes can’t displace them even with advance Western weaponry

At this point a deal needs to be made that involves Zelensky making territorial concessions in exchange for peace. Ukraine stays out of NATO but with security guarantees from the West.

I agree with all this.

Here’s the problem. Who is going to police the peace? If the West guarantees Ukraine’s security they may as well be allowed in NATO, right??? If the West didn’t guarantee security, then how long would it before Russia attacked Ukraine for the third time?

The problem isn’t the West, the problem is Russia. They can’t be trusted to be good neighbors. They are militaristic and have proven over time to be a real threat to nations on their borders.

Ukraine has no chance of anything but survival. Re-taking areas isn’t going to happen. But to say Russia has won isn’t quite accurate either. Nobody has won or will win. End the war. Peace is winning. People live, rebuilding can occur and we move away from WWIII.
