Surprise surprise: Christopher Steele flinging more shite at the wall, this time back home

You can’t make this stuff up. The only thing comparable would be Ahmed Chalabi lobbying for a sequel invasion after the WMD hunt in Iraq came up empty, and having the same humiliated media figures and politicians reach for pom-poms all over again.
The guardian is treating Steele like a legit source

I’m glad Tabbi mentions him, because we are in a very similar situation with Russia.
Our understanding of Russia is driven by exiles, usually self hating Russians, with a grudge. Or, it comes from Eastern European’s. Poles, Ukrainians, peoples with a reason to hate Russia.
Peter Strozk? His family was from Galacia, for example.
And this is how we ended up with this insane story. They’re exploiting the remains of our Cold War rivalry for personal reasons. They’re using American power to perpetuate their old grudges.
