The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted the Trump administration’s request to expedite briefs in its appeal of a lower court judge’s ruling that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program must remain in place.

Opponents will file briefs by Feb. 2, the court said.

Justices must still decide whether to hear the case, however.

A federal judge in San Francisco earlier this month issued a ruling blocking the Trump administration from ending DACA, which protects undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

President Trump announced last year he was ending the program.
The Department of Justice last week appealed the judge's decision, and asked the Supreme Court to bypass a 9th Circuit Court ruling in order to resolve the case more quickly, arguing it is of public importance.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has questioned the legality of the lower court’s ruling, and called the decision to go directly to the Supreme Court a “rare step.” LINK

So if the Supreme court decides that DACA can be ended or that its unconstitutional all together (not sure if they are even looking in to that) what leg will the dems have to stand on?

DACA was an EO and it had a sunset. how in the hell can you disallow something not to end at it's appointed time?

Still want to know on what legal grounds a court is ruling a president can't use an Executive Order to resind a previous executive order.

So they're going to decide on whether to hear a case on whether something that isn't law is "legal."

Prepare for more butt hurt proggies.

The Dems already hate the constitution and actively campaign for the government to ignore current laws, so I suppose they'll stand on the same thing they always stand on: Orwellian Issue of the Day pushed at all costs with no foresight.

The ruling was outrageous.
