Because protesters said they were “retraumatized” seeing pictures of them doing what they voluntarily chose to do in public.

Top J School in the Country

quote:

One area of our reporting that harmed many students was our photo coverage of the event. Some protesters found photos posted to reporters’ Twitter accounts retraumatizing and invasive. Those photos have since been taken down. On one hand, as the paper of record for Northwestern, we want to ensure students, administrators and alumni understand the gravity of the events that took place Tuesday night. However, we decided to prioritize the trust and safety of students who were photographed. We feel that covering traumatic events requires a different response than many other stories. While our goal is to document history and spread information, nothing is more important than ensuring that our fellow students feel safe — and in situations like this, that they are benefitting from our coverage rather than being actively harmed by it. We failed to do that last week, and we could not be more sorry.

That last line = “We’re sorry we focused on the fact you were protesting instead of who and what you were protesting. We failed to post things that only benefits your arguments which is that Jeff Sessions is a bad person.

What, do these students fancy themselves soldiers in battle and suffering PTSD by having to relive those horrific battles they faced?

Pretty much nailed it

quote:

As students at Northwestern, we are also grappling with the impact of Tuesday’s events, and as a student organization, we are figuring out how we can support each other and our communities through distressing experiences that arise on campus. We will also work to balance the need for information and the potential harm our news coverage may cause

Grappling with the impact? A person gave a talk in which you could choose not to attend.

Also, if they deem someone speaking to a group as too distressing, how do they think they’ll survive in the real world when they have to cover some real evil shite.

I’m convinced that college students are the most mentally deficient group of people in this country. And that’s coming from someone who grew up in the Marine Corps infantry. Think about.

This is one of the more ludicrous things I have read in a long time. They didn't want photos out for future employment issues and we all know it. They want to be able to act with abandon without accountability of any kind.

We also wanted to explain our choice to remove the name of a protester initially quoted in our article on the protest. Any information The Daily provides about the protest can be used against the participating students — while some universities grant amnesty to student protesters, Northwestern does not....As a campus newspaper covering a student body that can be very easily and directly hurt by the University, we must operate differently than a professional publication in these circumstances.

Turns out NU doesn’t punish you for merely attending a protest.

quote:

Although some universities grant amnesty to student protesters, Schapiro emphasized that Northwestern has no such policy. He said NU makes “the rules of engagement” very clear: “You can protest, you can’t hurt anybody and you can’t shut down speech. And if you do, you’re going to face the consequences.”

So The Daily Northwestern decided to give cover to these people who are brave, unless they can be identified. Reminds me of a certain black bloc group.

quote:

Over 150 students protested the event, some holding signs and others chanting “F–k Sessions.” Protesters also stormed the back entrance to Lutkin and attempted to enter the hall by climbing through windows and opening doors. University Police officers followed students into Lutkin, knocking some protesters to the ground and pushing others out.

That’s it. This isn’t anything unlike their future MSM employer landing spots.

Instead of burying their head like the professionals, they set out to do some journalisming and unwittingly implicated their teammates. That feelings stuff is just the excuse to remove the pictures and information.

Wow. Those people belong in an insane asylum. The Democrats don't even make partial sense anymore.
