Unfortunately this has been my experience. You also have to do the song and dance with the SBA before FEMA considers you. Very frustrating.

Well as an update. I had to write my senator like some people suggested and that worked really well. Immediately got another person out to investigate and ended up getting a check for 9k. Already had my repairs to the flooded area done but this will help go towards a new porch.
