I had similar expectations and similar reaction. This movie was total MAGA. Little guys in the universe have to unite to destroy the demo... I mean bad guys.

Saw it today. Made up for TLJ.
Enjoyed seeing the Sith. It went back to the original premise of the SW franchise and did a pretty good job of wrapping things up.
Wasn’t perfect, but worth the midday matinee price.

Based on the reviews, it sounds like it alienated (no pun intended) both “professional” reviewers for not pandering enough and regular fans for being so terrible and cheesy.

I would argue that it alienated the Leftist insider reviewers of the the big media companies who wanted woke SW.....and it alienated the fanboys who were pissed that not every little T was crossed and i dotted in the plot
The regular fans will walk out thinking : hey, I really liked this....what the hell was everybody's problem?
