They're in session now. It's up to the good guys to prevent any amendments from being added by the five main RINOs, or the demoncrats
Carlyle Kennedy is my guy ... his father, Ralph, and I go way back. I'm having dinner with Henry and them in a couple of weeks ... along with our Rep and some others, probably Pam Evette, et al.
I talked with Ralph and Carlyle over the weekend and those 27, listed above, are ready to fight this thing through to a win.
It's going to be really interesting.
Ironically, Ralph and Carlyle are long time friends of Shane and Blair as well ... all four of them are local attorneys. But they are at odds which each other over this, big time.

What to expect today in the South Carolina Senate.
They gavel in at 11 a.m. Third reading begins. This is the last step, and it will not be quiet.
Expect a wall of delay. Democrats and the Republican holdouts will throw everything they have left, points of order, motions, amendments. None of it is about the map. All of it is about one thing: running out the clock and cracking the coalition before the final vote.
Watch the amendments closest. Any amendment, any change at all, sends this bill back to the House and costs us days. The other side knows it. It’s their entire strategy. Our job is simple. Keep the bill clean. No amendments. Beat them back one by one, and the final vote follows.
And here is the math that decides it. 27 Republicans put this bill on the one-yard line with their second reading votes. They have to hold the line one more time:
Adams. Alexander. Blackmon. Bright. Cash. Chaplin. Climer. Corbin. Cromer. Elliott. Fernandez. Gambrell. Garrett. Goldfinch. Grooms. Johnson. Kennedy. Kimbrell. Leber. Peeler. Reichenbach. Rice. Stubbs. Turner. Verdin. Young. Zell.
Remember those names. They are the twenty-seven who stood up for the forgotten people of the 6th when it counted. The whole state is watching them today, and so is the country. They got us within one vote of history. Now they finish it.
One reading. One clean bill. And the people of the 6th get a real election for the first time since 1992.
Pass the bill.

They've gone from near last place to the front of the line.
Nice job GameCocks!

South Carolina went for Trump +18 in 2024. That is up from +11.5 in 2020 and +14 in 2016. You have to back to 2004 to find something close, where Bush won +17.
Has a Republican ever won the state by as much as Trump won in 2024?

We just lost this thing in the Senate .... 7 RINOs voted with the demoncrats to push this back until after the primary election (which got underway today) is finished.
This is outrageous.
Those 7 will pay.
It's complicated.
ETA and explain:
During the reading this morning,7 RINOs, along with all the democrats, during the course of the required 2nd reading before it was to be sent to Henry's desk tomorrow ... those 7 RINOs voted to add amendments that would cause the map Bill to be sent back to the House.
In doing so, those 7 RINOs claimed they couldn't vote to change the map while a primary was underway (started this morning with early voting only).
What went down, by the hands of those 7 RINOs under Shane Massey, is one of the most egregiously heinous underhanded political moves in the history of this state.

it's still going to be passed for 2026 right?

I wonder if those 7 are being blackmailed or if they're just spineless scumbags.

It'll get passed this year, in all likelihood, but not in time for the primaries and the November election.
shite is already hitting the fan on the traitorous RINO Senators. It was a punk move on their part.

Anymore fallout with this?
I hope they are catching hell.

They're catching hell ... the 12 RINOs that voted with Massey. Four of them, led by Massey, are the main ringleaders.
They are all not up for reelection until 2028, unfortunately. By then the map may be redistriscted.
The main four will be primaried regardless. Likely all twelve of the dirty dozen, but the main four, especially Massey, are toast.
Those are the four that forced the Bill sent up from the House the first time to be delayed until this past Tuesday, election day, for cloture. The other eight voted against it on "election integrity" grounds given that 25k votes had already come in early Tuesday.
