I think most of the reps realized the reality that IF the protestors had wanted to, they clearly could have taken them out. All of them. Dem leadership clearly wanted the area to be breached - since they helped them. Unfortunately for the dems, the protestors didn’t go there with the idea of hurting anyone. The dems wanted them to, to the point where they executed Ashley Babbit for no good reason other than to establish a narrative.
