There was a KC-135 boom operator that was caught or outed at Blytheville in 1990. I remember how pathetic and shamed the poor guy looked. I felt sorry for him but I never thought the military would adjust their policies as quickly as they have. It took almost 200 hundred years to integrate military units but these guys went from excluded to heroes in less than 30 years.
