Completely caved, Lindsey was basically just praising Flake on Fox, I don’t understand these people and I never will.

I'm convinced he was in on it, now. Way too aggressive and supportive of the nominee (to help offset some of his squishiness), all the while knowing that Flake was working with Coons to torpedo the whole thing.
fricking cowards. Grassley was solid, but his own fricking guys outmaneuvered him. McConnell has to be thinking, "What good are these guys in the caucus when they don't show up for a fight?"

And after a week passes and the "investigation" isn't quite finished, they will give them just a couple more days, and then when the report is issued they will need time to read it and then more time to debate some points in it. Then they will be off for Christmas break.

As this point Republicans have to go along with an investigation or this will be used against them in the midterms as well as it will be if the Demacrats try to delay any longer after the one week FBI investigation they requested. The game is far from over. Too much rides on this!
Also: Rumor of a second letter intended for Gotsuch is still a possibility.

What the hell were they supposed to do. Once the douche Flake flaked their hands were tied. He has not loyalty issues since he's out in 4 months anyway. It's the only option they had.

if he isnt confirmed before mid terms the republicans in mass will simply vote all the incumbents out, even if it means putting in brand new unknown amateurs in office to replace them.
