Thanks for the replies. Now, why does it take until June?
Because they

discuss . . Think about it . . . Read. . . (Some probab) Pray about it. . . (Some) Twiddle their thumbs
But mostly they have other cases to decide as well. And so they have to research further and then write opinions. The opinion writing part takes a long time.
They vote on whether to reverse or uphold the decisions of the lower courts, and their opinions explain why they voted the way they did.

Thanks .. I know of course they write opinions but wasn’t sure if they discuss with each other before writing.

I never saw the point in arguing when life begins. Truth is, nobody knows when life actually begins. My thought is, if you don't know, then you have to err on the side of caution, and assume that it begins at conception. The lesser of evil results. If you assume that it begins at birth, so you abort...and you are wrong....then you have murdered a person. That's the worst thing I can think of. On the other hand, if you assume that life begins at conception, so you don't allow an abortion....and you are wrong, then you've unduly caused a woman to suffer for 9 months and to have to give up a child for adoption or raise it (and deal with the psychological effects). Which is worse? To me, murder by far is the more horrible result. Thus, err on the side of caution. Apart from that, I never understood the "my body my choice" argument. Isn't it the baby whose body gets ripped apart?? What about HIS choice?

I would also add that the child has unique DNA making it not your body, but the body and life of a different human

Yes.
It’s nominalism. Nominalism is the underlying principle of modern life, and what we call science.

Roe never made sense and Mississippi is right. The problem is that there is no objective standard in law for court to fall back on, and it has politicized the SCOTUS and done much damage to our court system. abortion is a legislative determination, not judicial and i frankly hope that Roe is overruled for violating the separation of powers doctrine.
I just don’t get how there can be a fundamental right - without an Amendment - to engage in a practice that all the original colonies had banned as of the time of the constitution.
Am I wrong on that fact? ETA I think I am.

I still want to know why it’s murder on two counts of a pregnant woman and the fetus die but it’s not murder if a woman willing chooses to have an abortion.
If one is murder the other should be as well.
If one is murder the other should be as well.

The democrats, media & Biden WH are seething but seem to embrace the Supreme court's ruling on this as a way to win back voters.
LINK
It seems as if there is a campaign to women that they will die in a closet with a coat hanger-just so they can gain votes.
What is so incredibly sad is that the media will form this issue in a lie-of course...
It is ONE State wanting to only allow an abortion before 15 weeks gestation.
There is free contraception. Yet they want abortions until birth.
The media and the View talk shows won't say you can abort up to 4 months of pregnancy IN THE ONE STATE-they will show women in closets dead with coat hangers.
But this readdresses Roe V. Wade and federal rulings on abortion and they are petrified.
Yet it seems like they already know the outcome and will use this as a campaign issue bigly. Then they will also have an excuse to pack the court.
