Saw that South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg announces 2020 run

Never heard of the guy until seeing it on social media posted by a major network. I also know, nobody cares 
37 year old Afghanistan veteran who is openly gay. He calls the other democrat hopefuls as "flavor of the month". He believes him being mayor is different than the congressmen and women who are running.
The article also said that polls are surging and his fundraising is rising above others.
The total number of Dems is approaching 20 candidates for 2020.
Curious how this will work when primary's come. I imagine we will see them all hold out strong, but the media will inevitably give attention to a few.
It will also be glorious watching these Dems attack each other on the way to that spotlight.

I just hope he doesn't go sassy on everyone. FWIW, im all for people to do what they want, but this campaign is all about titles. So much diversity, yet they are all worthless running because of their diversity/title.
I would love to see how much money will be raised/spent by democratic hopefuls as they all throw it down the toilet.
Usually it seems like a few throw their names out to get some publicity, but these are some dedicated hopefuls. Even more amazing not one has dropped out from my understanding.

It shouldnt matter tbh. This is what I do not understand about the LGBTQ community. I really dont feel like in this time (2019) people really care. Its more so forced upon us like it is something special. I dont go bragging about being straight, so why should they tell us their preference?

Booker also doesnt have to reiterate the fact that he is black. It goes back to what I just said. If you want to be equal, do not separate yourself from the equality.
Same goes for the females. The biggest thing that will be used is that - they could be the first female president. No one really gives a shite, just like no one really cares that Obama was the first black. Its not like he was from the hood, not privileged, and did not receive better opportunities than most black people. The dude has been through some serious life opportunities that most citizens, regardless of race, do not get to experience.

And Pete is not only openly gay, but is actively using his sexual orientation as a political catalyst. He referenced his sexuality throughout his announcement speech today to roaring applause.

Exactly. His campaign is based more on him being a gay veteran than it is on his policy plans. The article just stated he's tired of Trump, didn't like Pence as governor, and he's not the flavor of the month. Well Pete, you kind of are the flavor of the month because next month there will be another Democrat that does the same thing.

Ya’ll have not been paying attention. Mayor Pete is like a rocket moving up 3rd in the latest Dem Polls, and has Republicans like Hugh Hewitt saying that he worries him. I don’t Know if America is ready to vote a gay for president, but this guy is impressive - Harvard, Rhodes Scholar, Afghan combat vet, church doing Episcopalian, great South Bend turn around mayoral record, whip-smart and articulate.

He’s also picking fights with Mike Pence who has never said anything but kind words to him.
