Sanctuary Cities Won’t Receive Federal Tax Dollars to Repair Riot Damage

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation will not be bailing out so-called “sanctuary cities” that defy federal immigration laws or allow rioters to torch transportation infrastructure.
“The @USDOT will NOT fund rogue state actors who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement,” Duffy stated bluntly on X.
“And to cities that stand by while rioters destroy transportation infrastructure — don’t expect a red cent from DOT, either. Follow the law, or forfeit the funding.”
Duffy’s statement is a direct response to President Trump’s renewed call to crack down on Democrat-run cities that harbor illegal immigrants and enable chaos.
This hardline tactic follows Duffy’s April 24 directive—under the “Follow the Law” banner—threatening to cut funding for agencies embracing DEI programs or turning a blind eye to illegal immigration.

Absolutely. For too long the progressive mayors and governors have held their police at bay; and often in harms way.
I'll bet these damages are in the 10's of millions.
Let them virtue signal a check.

If this holds this is great news.

They only tear it up because they know you will rebuild it.
Don’t rebuild it and let them live in squalor and they will regret their decision as long as they have to live there.
97% of people don’t have the money to move so it’s safe to say they are stuck.
frick em

I would not doubt this number.
Many look at this from an American perspective, we grow up and live in a community all our lives. Or we work for corporate America, the military, and have that support when we are moved to another city.
Many many immigrants migrate to the US, and if it doesnt work out, move back home. Their skill sets are transferable, they dont need a headhunter, on online seach engine to find a job.
So some unwanted pressure, whether it be at the workplace, from the immigration office, etc. is enough just to say screw this Im going back home.
