This is good advice, I've eliminated all Meta products and switched from most Google products to more privacy respecting options.

My Android phone and Chromebook are the last to go, should be replacing both in the next month. Pretty much all my fed friends and acquaintances have been using Signal for years, any tips on devices and operating systems?

There is a new phone from Erik Prince called the unPlugged Phone that looks interesting, as well as running GrapheneOS on a Pixel. I don't know enough about either one to know if they are worth the hassle and cost or just a gimmick or honey pot.
