I'm not sure "if you're invaded you should just roll over and take it" is a solution nor something that's going to palatable to most.
It almost certainly invites continued, similar action from the aggressors. Obama's weakness proves that today.
But again, I find the idea that Russia would roll through Ukraine easily fantastical. The curtain's been pulled back a bit on the idea of Russian might.

You talking about the same russia we were hitching rides with on their rockets to get to the international space station when the shuttle was decommissioned?
The shuttle was a terrible concept and needed to be retired. We should have been developing a replacement to have ready when it was retired. Hell it shouldn't have to have been retired as it never should have been built in the first place but alas. Yes Russia had a working rocket to get men to orbit for the ISS (something else that maybe shouldn't have been built and the funds all gone to nonmanned missions) but we now can privately get then to orbit. The Russian tech is outdated but reliable for that one purpose, i dont know that id use a broad brush for all their rockets.

It's interesting that you find this funny, while so many people are getting killed.
Which wouldn't happen if Russian leadership didn't invade another country and could be stopped if Russian leadership decided to pack up and leave. It's amazing the ignorance of some of yall towards Russia simply because Putin was seen as Trumps buddy.

Russia severely damaged Ukraine's air force in the early days of this war. Ukraine has never recovered.
Time to give them a new Air Force then. Our Cold War shite in storage would curb stomp Russia, without risking a single American life that isn’t volunteering (as we will just backfill with F35s like we planned to anyway).

Only thing Russia know how to make is a good engine. Prior to Space X our satellite companies relied on Russian engines for launches, and the Chinese Air Force still hasn’t produced an highend jet engine as good as Russias. Soon that capacity will be eaten by the war, then their economic collapse.

What’s funny is you’re contorting yourself so tremendously to avoid placing blame on the Russians.
I’m down with ending aid as soon as the Ukrainians tell us they no longer want to fight. But if they want to continue to fight to not be taken over by Russia, I’m perfectly OK with arming them to do so.

Fine - do so with your own fricking money. You and your liberal buddies can set up a GoFundMe. You don't need mine.

We will probably end up saving money by not having to store that old stuff anymore nor have to properly decommission equipment like Bradley’s (especially once you count the new arm sales from countries that see Russian arms are a waste of money).

quote:The misinformation in this thread and confidence in promoting it is interesting. E.g., Russian missiles can't hit a target. Russia does not have technology which they are widely known to have for half a decade.
No they do not have an actual hypersonic missile. It is a ballistic missile using the earth's gravity to gain hypersonic speed. It does have a guidance system to change course.
So to be clear, Russia does "have an actual hypersonic missile."
It appears you confused two programs: HGVs and HCMs.
HGVs are controllable reentry gliders (space shuttle technology). Top speed ~Mach 25. Reentry speed and maneuverability renders HGVs hard to defend. Russia, China, and others have those. The Russian program is "Avangard"
HCMs are scramjet powered hypersonic cruise missiles. Mach 5 to Mach 9. Russia conducted its first successful HCM tests 5yrs ago. Their HCM system was deployed recently. We seem to be substantially behind Russia with our own HCM design. The Russian program is "Zircon"
I guess this stuff isn't surfacing in your news sources?
