So what is the current area near there that is like Hoover was years ago?

Right now it's Hoover. Our city council is about to appoint a new school board member, and that will go a long way toward determining if we can right the ship at our school system and have Hoover continue as a good place to live for much longer. Our school system made some truly awful decisions over the past year.

Homewood from what I can tell.

Didn't that council shift left in the most recent election?

Yep. Equity is #1 in the school system right now. They had a couple of great candidates for school superintendent, but passed on them all and are still looking. Wonder what they are looking for?

Not based on how the city votes in elections. The school system needs to get back to what made it great though.

I don't think that's it. One of the finalists was a black woman. Definitely not the best candidate, but if they were looking for just a diversity hire then they had a qualified candidate who would have checked that box.

Isn't Hoover high school where all college football recruiters look for football players. Same town?

Yep. Let's put up a sticker so only law-abiding citizens comply.

Should call them "soft target zones."

They aren't. I just left city hall little over an hour ago. No one was there.

Maybe tomorrow.
