Did you defend the covid vaccine as an effective vaccine in the pre covid sense of the word?

Crazy4 is now a pariah to humanity. Shame, shame, shame.

As in, did I think the mRNA vaccine produced immunity? It did, confirmed by lab work which shows different antibody profiles between natural infection and vaccine mediated protection. But I also said that the antibody profile for the vaccine was too narrow for it to be effective unless very specific conditions were met, which were decidedly not met by the time the vaccines were rolled out. I believe I was one of the first to point out that a stepwise vaccine release program would prolong the course of infection through a population because it would RNA viruses retain degrees of genetic diversity which would make mutations around the specific mRNA vaccine protein much more prevalent. The narrow molecular profile of the vaccine meant you needed a massive, worldwide rollout, and as soon as they confirmed that the mRNA technology was proprietary, I said that they were prolonging the pandemic.
The mRNA technology is useful but it wasn't used to its fullest extent during the pandemic, and was the wrong vehicle for this particular pathogen.

Nah not really. My patients love me.

Yep, nothing controversial here

What? It produced antibodies which we could verify on lab work. There are several more controversial sentences in that post. And you wonder why I think you can't read. Alas.

Did teh definition of immunity change? Because I can't count the number of people I know that got mRNA vaccines for Covid and get it multiple times.
But I probably just can't read.

Do you want me to be technical? Because the definition of 'immunity' in the immunology textbooks referenced protection as a standard of immunity much earlier than the CDC did, with the earliest reference I found from the mid-2000s. The question is why didn't the CDC reflect those changes in their definition earlier, as they updated the definitions previously until they became congruent with the academic textbook definition in 2021.
And people got COVID multiple times despite taking the mRNA vaccine because it had a narrow molecular profile. The virus itself has far more immunogenic material than just the spike protein, which is how we could differentiate it vaccine-mediated protection. Because there was lots of immunogenic material (meaning that they would produce an antibody response) and that this immunogenic material was the most likely to mutate as it encountered environmental changes induced by previous infections, of course people would have multiple infections. The body will produce a cytokine response for any immunogenic material, and a mutation at a key site would result in another adaptive response because antibodies are highly specific.
I'd argue that the design of the vaccine, with a narrow profile and a piecemeal rollout prolonged the course of the pandemic. I argued as such from very early on. As for why, the reason was clearly the profits of Moderna and Pfizer, who unlike previous disease control efforts, kept their technology proprietary, undercutting the notion that the pathogen was serious at all.

No reason why you can buy the same drugs in Mexico for a fraction of what they cost in the U. S. other than greed. He will bring down the cost of medications so people don't have to choose whether to buy food or medications.
