The difference is that the right doesn't demand the government shut down speech they disagree with or demand the athletes be fired and compare them to Hitler.
There is nothing wrong with thinking it is inappropriate for athletes and entertainers who gain popularity through sports or entertainment to use their fan base as a captive audience for poorly developed political opinions.
You've been on fire lately. I think you're in a much better place now. Marco just wasn't ready. We both know this.

You keep saying "athletic field." When athletes offer you their opinions, it isn't while they're playing the sport you like watching them play. If you even are aware of the non-sports opinions of your favorite athletes, it is because you've chosen to listen to them.
Not true. We've seen BLM banners, political statements, and even bible verses shared by athletes immediately before, after, or during athletic events. We've seen professional athletes refuse to stand for the national anthem immediately before their game.

You're declaring what behavior is politically appropriate and inappropriate
I disagree. I am simply stating that part of the entertainment value of athletes is the lack of exposure to their political or religious stances. Introducing politics into the product that they provide reduces their value to me. At some point people like me may choose to go fishing instead of going to an NFL game.
I'm not saying athletes (like Tebow for instance) should not be allowed to expressed political or religious views. I'm saying that in doing so, they run the risk of being defined as something like "the bible thumper" and less of an athlete. That makes them less valuable to people who don't want politics involved in the entertainment they consume.

What you're complaining about doesn't happen during the game, so maybe take your own advice?
That's not true...but even if it were, professional athletes are public figures. If they allow themselves to be defined in public as anything other than the athlete they are (be it a rube, dead beat, criminal, or political), they reduce their value to their fans and thus their employer. That's a risk they should never take especially right now.

You don't seem to understand the concept of PC.
Yes it bothers us when knucklehead pro athletes try to preach to us regarding shite on which they have less understanding than nearly all of the rest of us.
I don't want to hear their bullshite politics. I just want them to shut the frick up and play the game.

I disagree
