Scott Walker, Mike Pence and John Kasich are the three govenors I would like to see begin to make inroads with regard to the 2016 race.
Obama was only the third person elected President while occupying a seat in the Senate. I could easily see a former or sitting governor with no Washington experience getting the Republican nomination this time around. None of the biggest names on the GOP side are making any headway at all nationally.

What does this have to do with Movie Credits?

He'd be a great VP candidate who could debate nuts and bolts issues with knowledge and authority. Kasich just comes across as more of a likable fellow. I frear Rand's lack of executive experience, but I agree with him on most issues. Overall, I'd be pleasantly surprised if any one of these guys could overcome the establishment powers to remain standing at the end.
Republican primaries should be Paul vs Bush---
I would like to see Walker on stage with some good support. He and Rand Paul are my two favorites. I believe he could bring an aspect of having been Governor that Rand can't, at this point.

Kasich
I've been more interested in him lately. He and Rand are my 2 favorites. As for Jeb, I don't hate him necessarily, but I really don't want another Bush in office

Walker isn't in my top list, but I certainly respect his background, and I think he'd be interesting.

Kasich won his first term as Ohio Governor by a 49-47 margin
This year, he won re-election by a 64-33 margin, in a crucial presidential election year state.
One big plus for him is that he also served 18 years in the House, so he knows how Washington operates without being currently a part of it.
The most important criterion for a guy like Kasich in choosing a running mate if he won the nomination would be to avoid selecting someone who is controversial and an easy Democratic target. Rubio might be a good match with Kasich, and together they could very possibly deliver 47 key electoral votes from their purple home states, where each enjoys solid popularity ratings.

quote:Good points. Ohio, Wisconsin and Florida would all be critical states to carry for a GOP candidate. I'm just not sure Rubio is strong enough to guarantee Florida, and he'd piss off a lot of crucial electorate in marginal states like Arizona, Colorado, Virginia.
